Brief Introduction – hosting company: Tenuta di Valgiano is situated at an altitude of 250 meters above sea level on the hillside 10 km North-East of charming town of Lucca in northern Tuscany, not far from the Tyrrhenian Coast. The climate is Mediterranean with large amount of light that allows optimal maturation pollrenolìche. The vineyards are conducted with
agricultural practices sensibility. including biodynamic practices, with the aim of obtaining the quality of grapes can best express the territor. Winemaking techniques are traditional, with minimum technology interference.
The intention is to produce, in the simplest way possible, wine is the ‘expression of the place in which it is grown;
the guest was looking for a young entrepreneur interested in biodynamic agriculture and the production of wines.
Aurélien: I chose the Erasmus program because I wanted to go abroad, learn to do the imprendìlore and enrich
My knowledge on viticulture. I chose the llalla because it is a country that has un’ottim to repu tation for quality wines and also because I have Italian origins. I was really happy to go to Italy. I chose to exchange an entrepreneur
working in the field delragricoltura biodynamic because I believe the future of agricultural development is in this biologic direction. So I was interested to discover Italy, in wines and biodynamic agriculture. I was immediately
seduced by the Tenuta di Valgiano, by her beauty, by the people who live and work by its wines. I actually
spent two months learning and rich in emotions.
Activities:
Auréllen has learned a lot about the wine sector and on biodynamic In general. “We worked together in the vineyards by the classical works of this season (banish pull on the wires, tying the young plants, engage,
do biological treatments with sulfur and copper, remove the leaves with spots of mildew. etc. In the cellar we made
decanting, the wine tasting, we bottled white and red wines. We also participated in two meetings with farmers in biodynamic and two exhibitions of biodynamic wine “Vinitaly” and “VINO vino vino”

Aurélien has learned a lot about how to work using organic methods and
biodynamic, he also learned a lot about the quality of the soil, about the kinds of land, on the uninviting wine. “It was very positive” (entrepreneur guest)
